So today I was told to leave early by one of my managers. I wasn't feeling well the whole day or even the past two weeks. I was trying to hold it together for my shift but I couldn't do it by break time. It was right after that I started gagging out on the front end while I tried to walk back to work. I ran towards a trashcan and then ran upstairs to the break room. I didn't throw up but I felt a bit embarrassed about gagging in front of everyone.
Is there any chance I'd get in trouble for something like this? I mean I even apologized to another manager and she sounded pretty cool about it. I was just wondering if I could get in trouble for showing up to work sick or the above.
You shouldn't. If you're sick, you're sick. You really can't help it. I went to work sick yesterday (bad mistake) and everything was fine. I have a cold so I just walked away if I had to cough or sneeze. No biggie.
