My Gf and i work for kroger we are both front end (i am a cashier she is acsm recently promoted from cashier who was also LHR) they promoted a bagger who has been there for about 5 months to cashier/LHR even tho i asked for the position every day i have 1.5 years of seniority my gf has been there for 3.5. the bagger just got register trained and she is asking for a pay raise even tho my gf never got one no matter how many times she asked and the manager said YES how is this possible. Management said that LHR was not a tittle that the union gave a pay raise to. Is there any thing we can do? (there wasnt on bid out for the postion)

The manager said, "Yes, how is this possible?"
Science needs to hurry up with that telepathy/neuro-synch ap ........Because the way written communication is going, we're fast becoming a nation of brain dead illiterates.
A bagger promoted to a cashier would get a pay raise. An acsm would under our contract keep the same pay as a cashier so no pay raise there. As far as seniority, you may have been there 1.5 years but you only have seniority over those hired after you. They give raises according to the union contract. As far as any position not listed in the contract, it's bogus and you can contact the union about it.
i don't know what a LHR is, but if any bagger becomes register trained, they get a pay raise. A bagger should never do the job of a cashier while not getting paid at a cashier rate.

It's the lack of punctuation. The manager said yes. (to the baggers request for a raise) How is this possible? (cashier and acsm are at the same pay rate, so no raise., baggers promoted to cashier gets a pay raise)
You asked every day? Sounds to me like you were being a stubborn bltch about it and didn't appreciate your current job. There's a LARGE difference between persistence and pushiness.
