It's theft, plain and simple. That's like "borrowing" money straight out of one of the registers. All the money in the tills and any money kept in the safe in cash office must be accounted for. No manager, none whatsoever, is going to say it's okay to "borrow" money from cash office, and if you were shorted last pay check, that's not how payroll or any member of management addresses it. What you were shorted would be added on to a future paycheck.

Yes, there are most definitely cameras in cash office, just as there are cameras over customer service, the registers, self-scan and elsewhere in the store. If you did what you said you did, Loss Prevention and management will likely catch on, either via camera footage or the lead bookkeeper spotting the discrepancy in the numbers.

There's just something seriously wrong about your story. Who said you could have it? No employee is going to say that to you unless that employee wants to see you fired and no manager in his or her right mind would ever okay that.

Anything less than a $100 is just a warning? What makes you think that? Stealing anything, regardless of the value, is not only grounds for termination but loss prevention will press charges on you.

You're just mad because that union steward tried to molest you.  Calm down.  You work for Kroger corporate so it's going to be ok.  If they call you into the office just tell them to cease and desist.

I can't believe everyone falls for this crap time and time again lol!  But then again, it does sound like the typical Kroger employee so most think it's legit.

You STOLE cash out of the office. That is STEALING. EVEN if you pay it back in full. If your short on your check, you're supposed to talk to payroll about the discrepancy. There ARE cameras in the cash office. And each one is fixed right on the person in the office at that time. And also that money is counted, counted again, and just change things up, counted again. Meaning if there was $2000.00 cash in that office, there BETTER be $2000.00 in there (unless noted otherwise). But the point is the money is ALWAYS counted. When you "borrowed" (stole) the cash there is a 999.99% guarantee they WILL notice the loss. EVEN A PENNY will be noticed. And no manager would EVER allow ANYONE to borrow money from the cash office. If by a small 000.1% you do not get caught, I would not do it again.

May be true at your store.  At our Kroger, I have worked as a cashier and in the cash office.  I know for a fact they never ever count the change in the tills.  They just allow the registers to be up to $20 short before they question anyone.  They don't want to take the time to count the change.  I always thought it was wrong.  I had customers late at night who would come in an pay $10 in quarters, which would look like your drawer is short if they don't count the change!

Why would I do that?  Hell, IF I was the original poster (which I'm not) why would I post something, then post again and and cut myself down?  I'd take my own side you idiot.  Also, you spelled douche wrong.

Someone once "borrowed" cash from me WITHOUT my permission. Last time they did that. Ever.
