I am a FEM in the central division. Im curious what all the front end managers out there work. Do they open in the accounting room? Do they work any supervisor shifts? What time do they get off everyday? Every week i am being told that i am to supervise 4 days a week & write schedule the other day. Super shifts are till 8pm at my store. I am not working 4 days a week until 8pm. It started as 1 day. Then went to 2. Somewhere its jumped to 4 now. No longer allowed to open in accounting & no more doing payroll. Yet i am held responsible for the whole front end.

Our CSM comes in at 5:00am each day, the assistant CSM does the payroll and opens on the CSM's days off, and the FEM work a few late nights, til around 8:00 pm.
I wouldn't gripe about working until 8:00 pm (if it were me). Our comanagers have to work until 11:00 pm, and work all day long open to close when the other one has a day off. As a FEM you have to have open availability. (From the time the store opens until the store closes.)
If you aren't going to work until 8:00, step aside. I bet there are MANY who will gladly take your pay rate and hours over theirs.
LOL! I would love to hear our FEM gripe to one of our managers over working until 8:00 pm! LOL!

What hours were you working when YOU were doing the schedule?
I also am in the Central division. As a fem One week I'll do the four shifts 11 to 730. Then on the schedule day I work 8 to 430 for my early day. then the following week I'll do one open accounting shift.

That's not too bad. But I bet OP WOULD NOT work until 7:30 either.
I don't know of any retail jobs where you don't have to work some nights. OP probably gave herself all the good shifts when she was making out the schedule. OP doesn't make the schedule anymore. I wonder why?

I do the schedule 1 day. I was doing 2 super shifts & 2 acct room opens. My super shifts are till 8 & i always have fri or sat every week then another day. I like sat so i am with all the newer people to coach.

No i wouldnt like till 730 either. I dont mind 1 late shift per week even 2 like it was for a few years. But i have over 20 years in and have worked my way up. If i only had 5 years here it would be different. I did 13 years of nights as i worked my way up. Now im being pushed back to that. I still write my schedule. I think as a FEM we should have shifts for every part. Opening acctg 1 day a week keeps us in practice & can answer questions when people have them. Not sure how a fem is responsibile for cash when never in acctg or customer service. As a super i am in a checklane all shift & cant even coach anyone. My backup has to do more than she should because she opens 3 days. Just dont see what harm 1 open does.

If i were mgmt then i would be there till 11pm. Thats why i have refused everytime i have been offered. If i had less seniority i wouldnt care, but ive worked my way up for over 20 years to only go back to nights. Thats what i think is crazy. Never opening acctg just 1 day a week is crazy. How do you coach people when you no longer do it? I have no problem with 1 or 2 late shifts a week. I didagree with 4. It wasnt 4 when i accepted the position. My backup has to do more than she shpuld because im on the floor. My mgmt knows my opinions as i am open & honest. I work what corp wants but think its not whats best for the store.
