My second vacation is next week, and on my first one my store gave me my regular check and a vacation pay check based on my average amount of hours. They did that again for this one, which is neat, but if I remember correctly, I will not get the check for THIS week of work until the payday after next.
Now, why do they do that? Do all Kroger stores do this? I understand that my vacation check should be given next week if they followed the routine, but why does giving the vacation pay check early mean my regular pay check is delayed? That's messed up, am I right? Are we paid weekly or not?
It's like being paid bi-weekly because I was double-payed. Can you negotiate a different payout? Too late, but I'm asking for next time.
I'd rather get the vacation pay check next week, rather than have to change my budget strategy momentarily.
My store doesn't do it like that. Let's say that I am on vacation this week so I will get paid for it next week.
You can ask your payroll person to hold it next time. I think the reason they do that is so you have extra cash for your vacation? But, I agree, it leaves a void in your finances for a week. Your pay is not delayed. You work a week(Sunday thru Saturday) and then get paid the next Thursday for those hours.
