So, my store has recently gained the habit of changing our schedules without notice. Our schedules are typically posted at noon on Friday and both the paper and GreatPeople schedules match. Then either Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon the GreatPeople schedule changes entirely and the paper schedule may or may not have changed (forcing one to then drive into work to check). This is a total pain because it's hard to plan for the upcoming week when I don't know if the schedule will change. And having to find the time on Sunday to go recheck the paper schedule is difficult because I work another job in a different town on the weekends and I'm often not back until Monday morning.
How do I handle this? The last time I talked to the schedule writer about it, I just got shrugged off. Do I go by the schedule posted on Friday? Do I go by the changes made on GreatPeople?
Ask your store manager which schedule to follow. Ask about being contacted also so you don't have to drive in to check it.
The paper schedule is the official schedule. I have never seen Eschedule get updated. But, that doesn't mean someone hasn't figured out how to update it.

When I change my crews' schedule, I text whoever is effected on my crew or send a pic of the updates.

We're never told about schedule changes, even though we're supposed to be. Last week our schedule (paper one) was changed Sunday night with a little written post-it note reasoning that the store had received an "extremely high" number of requests off for the week (because they forgot finals were coming up when doing the schedule initially) and I only found out about the change because I was being called and asked why I wasn't at work (I hadn't been scheduled for that Monday when the schedule was initially posted on the Friday before). Up until recently the eSchedule had been very accurate to the paper schedule, so I had never thought much about having to run into the store to check the paper one.
I just find this ordeal to be quite unprofessional of them? At the very least it would be quite the courtesy to shoot a text out the the schedule required changes and to come in to review it so that we're in the know about it. Having it done out of the blue with no communication to the workers is frustrating and causing nothing but confusion. The scheduling issues of the past couple of weeks have seen the front end either over-staffed (more cashiers than we have registers) or the far more typical severely understaffed (handful of cashiers and 1 courtesy clerk if we're lucky). I know the Drug Department at our store is getting extremely pissed off at having to relieve the congestion of the front end when we get a rush of customers going since it deprives them from doing their department work for hours at a time.

Yup, lack of communication is the norm. With the new two week schedules, I let my crew know the changes well before Saturday at noon.
I almost got fired from a job many years ago because of a schedule change. Two of us shared the same first name but different last initials. I got a call asking where I was. When I went in, someone had written my last name initial over the other persons. I was threatened with being suspended for a week. I quit. That manager later was fired for stealing money from the register.
At our store the schedule is never done until mid afternoon Saturday. This is a clear violation of our contract, but FEM isn't bothered by it. I was almost fired for no call no show when he changed schedule on my day off at the last minute and no one called me.
