Got job at Kroger
Permalink

Last thursday i had an interview with the hiring manager, and she told me i was hired. I took the drug test, signed all the papers, and she told me she would give me a call in 2 days to tell me when orientation will be. She still hasn't called me, should i call her? if so, what do i say?

Yes, call her and ask when she is ready for you to start.  I do not understand how stores hire people with such a lack of communication.

Good Luck with the job.

Yep, just call in and ask for a manager when they pick up. Its that simple.
The paperwork and communication is normally poor, so they probably just forgot to call.

I called yesterday, spoke with a manager. He told me that the hiring manager wasn't in and that he would be working with her today and that he would ask her.
Still waiting on a call .

Chances are the manager already forgot to tell the HR lady.  I would call today.  Another issue is that they like to do big new hire orientations so it takes a week or two to get it all together.

I would also advise you that kroger is only willing to pay a little over minimum wage.   No bennies for a least a year.  If your state has a right to work law, I would advise you to NOT join the union.

There is no reason to not keep looking for other work.  Good luck.

Yeah don't join the union. Unless you want full time or at 5-10 years into job there.
