So after over a year of dealing with some really ****ty managers, rude/idiotic customers, and the constant lies/procrastination when I ask to be moved to a department away from the front end, I have quit. Granted there were a lot of other factors (the ones mentioned were just the main "beefs"). And there were aspects of the job I didn't mind and people I worked with/customers I found enjoyable to interact with. But enough is just enough, y'know? And the instant relief that came with walking away from the store was just overwhelming. I couldn't understand why I hadn't done it sooner.
To those who enjoy their jobs with Kroger, good for you. I honestly cannot comprehend how anyone can find real satisfaction working here but good if you do.
To those seeking employment with Kroger, I either want to wish you the best of luck (if you're working in a department) or tell you to run in the other direction (if you're going in for the front end).
For me, I'm just glad to be done with it. I hope this forum could one day return to what it was as I found it to be helpful when I had no where else to turn when I had questions.

You can honestly go **** yourself. I quit and am damn proud of having done it. Who the **** would want to work for this company for 30 years, especially at the **** pay the company has?
Well im happy for you man. It's soooo weird because i went through the same exact bull**** that you went through, I've been a bagger for 2 years but i originally applied to be a grocery clerk before i started working there. Them dickheads been procrastinating and making up lies to me for a long ass time. One time i asked to move to Grocery and the manager told me to wait 30 days and i waited 30 days, came back to her, and told me "well i'll have to check with the front end supervisor because we cant take you out the front end unless there are enough baggers" Seriously?? like thats not my problem, you guys should have more than enough baggers. So i waited for her to talk to my supervisor and a week or 2 went past and come to find out that she transferred to a different store.....just left me hanging! I was so pissed.
