Asking for a pay raise
Permalink

I've worked for Kroger for 4 years in June. My starting pay was $7.25 and I've slowly gotten union based raises every 6 months and now make $8.00. I have been a full time employee for over 2 years, Im 3rd in seniority in my department (behind Produce manager and his backup) and my duties have grown from just a Produce clerk to 2nd Shift Produce clerk, Breaking down/Running the trucks, Responder (Cashier), helping in Floral and I do way more work than the people I work with in my department. So recently 3 people were hired into the department and they make more than me and they are all Part Time...one makes $10 and the other two $9.35, neither of them have as much experience in retail than me.    So my question is, How do I go about asking for a Raise? Do I ask my Store Manager or the HR Rep? Id appreciate any information from anyone that has any experience with this topic? Thanks :)

How did they get a higher starting wage?

I make 100 dollars a day, working from 2-5 hours most days. I do resets for grocery stores.

I've worked here for almost 6 years and am only making $9 an hour. the people in the middle really got shafted when min went up. If you're certain they are making more than you with less experience then talk with your union rep and file a grievance.

yall need to look at your contract. If you're not at the right rate you need to contact your union representive.
