It varies depending upon the contract. In the Dallas vision a apprentice meatcutter full time starts at $8.25 / hr and once certified they eventually get slotted into the certified meatcutter slot at $15 / hr over a 3 1/2 period. The raises are periodical.

Cutter and Specialist are two different things in all ways. Apprentices start here in NW OH @9 or so. The only way to be a Journeyman now is to be a Dept and then step down. Best thing to do is go work at Costco, Public or any independent non union company...
