I don't know. I hope it provides better communication to the customer about not taking their stuff off the bagging platform before they are done, and I hope the idiot attendant isn't able to just clear it when the customer gets stupid. I do know that we will have to physically go over and punch in our checker number for alcohol like they do at Walmart.

We do that in my division, and I think our SCOs are even older then the Toshibas. These things are very bitchy at times and it causes me stress when I am asked if I can unlock one right after i freaking turn around after clocking in up front. XD "I'm sorry ma'am I'm not authorized to unlock you, let me get someone for you." grrrrr
I don't think I've ever not had trouble when trying to use them. It fusses if I double bag something. It fusses if I move something from one bag to another. It says, "Please wait for assistance" for absolutely no reason whatsoever. It says put the item in the bag when it's already in the bag. It waits until I'm finished with my order before saying it's not accepting cash. It tells me to remove all purchased items. Gee, I thought I would pay for them all and just leave them there.
