hi guys i might be getting fired because for the past few days I've been coming into work late(i work nights). I work with one other person who litterally waste tons of time talking when we are there and leaves a mess when the person leaves. I don't complain i haven't said anything. I've been showing up to work late because ive been working 7-8 nights at a time sometimes more. Thats not even the worst part the other person gets credit for the **** i do. Ive tried changing my availability 3-4 times now i even talk to them about its still the same and the request on e-schedule are still pending. I also suffer from a mood disorder so sleep is a must. When ever i try to take my days off the person goes and tells the store manager/ department manager on me. They also blow up my phone i stopped answering because its almost like everyday the person does it and im just sick of it. Sometimes i might be getting a call in the middle of the day and it wakes me up out my sleep, its gotten to the point where it feels like harassment. Im just sick of it i can't stand this job anymore but i can't quit because i wont be able to stay where i live. Ive tried to switch to days but they said no
Also they favor the other person over me and i go above and beyond at work im sick of it. the person is a kiss ass and suck up to my managers.
Do you work at night when the store is closed or in the evening?
Termination is usually done in steps with a warning each step. How many times have you been warned with SIRs(significant incident reminder)?
Managers usually don't go directly to termination unless you are caught stealing merchandise, stealing time or violent to coworkers.
If you are scheduled off, how can you be forced to work those days? Turn off your phone or block the store number for those days if able.
You might get a write-up for being tardy but you will have time to correct it and have the write-up to drop off.
At night when the store is close and yes i been warned i don't think i been written up also im usually 3hrs late sometimes more or less im just so tired. On my days off i do turn my phone off and when the other person calls me and i don't answer they tell my store manager and he will come in the morning to talk to me about some bs if you miss a day it makes it hard for the other person.But when the other person is off i don't call or say anything i been in the department longer then her too and they just gave it to her she gets tired fast too and no i don't steal or anything.
3 hours late is bad. 30 minutes late is negotiable. The night manager can refuse to let you clock in if you are 2 hours late on our contract. No one can demand that you work on your scheduled days off.

I was twelve or so - back in the mid 70's. Those were the good ol' days. We were grooving to the Village People and wearing cool clothing like bell bottom pants. My best friend Tom McGurn told me a great way to make a few bucks. All I had to do was carry a gulf bag on my shoulder around this ritzy country club for a bunch of rich doctors and lawyers. No problem right! Well I remember that first time out caddying and somehow I got the 75 pound bag that weighed as much as me and damn was it heavy and crap was it so damn hot and here I am lugging this fricken' bag on my shoulder and the strap was digging into my neck and it hurt so f'ing much that I just could not take it no more. So here I am at 12 years old pissed at Tom for roping me into this bull crap of a job right and all I wanted to do was go to the swim pool and have a popsicle so it was the 7th hole and this hole was a major B cause it was a long mf'er and went up a hill and it was the farthest corner of the country club from the caddy shack so my golf dude hit his ball and I got no damn idea where the hell it went so off we go walking down the fairway and the stupid golfer guy says to me 'Hey caddy boy - did you see where my ball landed" & all I wanted to say to him was "F*ck no you big prick" but said instead "no sir" and he got all pissed off cause now he lost his ball and it will cost him a penalty stroke and he will lose the bet they made on the hole for like a zillion dollars and all. So I just dropped the damn bag right down on the fairway and I ran to the fence hopped over it and off I went to the pool.
