Switching to the Organic/Natural foods department
Permalink

I was thinking of switching to the Organic/Natural foods department. If I did, what types of things would I need to know? Does anyone have any tips for working in that department? I know there would be quite a bit of lifting and from what I've been told the items come into the store from different areas in the back. Also how flexible is this department compared to the front end or other departments?

I have been a nutrition lead for about 4 years and depending on your volume it could be easy or really difficult. In my store we do around 60k a week and just keeping up with milk and frozen is a pain not to mention the bulk area which is always time consuming. I have 26 doors of frozen and 12 feet of yogurt. Get a nite stocker to do your dry and back stock then it becomes manageable

60k? Might if I ask what your total store volume -fuel/rx?  Our divisions highest volume store does on avg 1.3-1.4m a week and their nutrition is only around 50k.   I'm assuming you're a marketplace?
