Yep, I tell people I am un-employed instead of telling them I work for Kroger.

I sometimes feel embarrassed to tell people I work in a grocery store.  So I just say I work for the Kroger Company in merchandising.

no? why be ashamed, it's a job, and if you stick it out long enough, you actually do get paid pretty well.

You don't know my pain of working at Kroger. I am about to graduate with a bachelor's in computer engineering this winter and you don't know how undervalued I feel.

It has been an excruciating 5 years. I only work one day a week due to an internship, but even one day a week is painful.

If corporations could feel shame, Krogrr would be ashamed of mistreating its workers, keeping abusive managers in charge of other people, and for profoundly underpaying the folks who make the muckety-mucks their money.
