I started working at Kroger a couple of months ago and I was originally hired to work in the deli. However, when I was doing my new hire paperwork, the HR manager told me she wanted me to be a courtesy clerk instead and then do cashier training, which I did. I've always been on the front end and never worked a single day in the deli, but according to Express HR, I'm a deli clerk. I'm not sure how much that matters--should I ask HR to edit my online profile so it says I'm a cashier instead?
Yes I actually do the HR stuff for my store you should as for a position change. It's quick and easy it take a few minutes to do but it doesn't update until the week after. Also if you are coded as deli and your new postition is courtesy clerk you might want to leave it because that would be a demotion. Deli get paid slightly more than courtesy clerks.

Courtesy Clerk is a dead-end scale under the contract I'm familiar with. Deli is on the clerk scale that at least goes up to double digits . . . in a few years.
