Getting Nowhere

Kroger WILL NOT hire me!  I give up on this corporation.  What is it about "no experience, because I had difficulty finding a job" don't they (corporate) understand?  This is ENTRY LEVEL WORK, not something that requries a degree in some bulls***.  I had two open interviews and one by appointment.  Both went well and I was told that they could use me on their team.  I seriously think that corporate SHOULD NOT HAVE THE POWER to decide who gets hired.  It should be up to the individual managers at each store to decide.  I am lucky that my location is decent.  I would STOP SHOPPING THERE if it was s***.  There is NO REASON why I cannot get my foot in the door.  I applied to Costco and a neighborhood grocer.  Both are better with hiring and I will STICK WITH THEM.  Sorry Kroger, you lose.

I hate to say it, but at least with the way my store is, they're taking almost everyone they can get, so if you haven't been hired yet, your interviews couldn't have gone all that well. Good luck at the other places you applied though. :)

Here too. My store is so desperate for help that we literally hire, train and put to work people before their background check even comes back. We've had several cases where a new employee has been working for two or three weeks before store management is suddenly forced to terminate that person on the spot because the background check comes back with something that disqualifies that person from holding a job with Kroger.

Chances are though, no matter what job you land elsewhere, it will pay better than Kroger does, so not getting a job with Kroger may be a blessing in disguise.

Corporate does not decide who gets hired unless you failed your drug test or background check. The person who interview hires you. If you had interviews and did not get any positions they could have not had any or you didn't interview too well.
