Tips for remembering Produce codes?

Hey all, I'm a bagger/ cashier. I'm 17. I've worked with Kroger for about 11 months total and I love it. Everyday I go into work, working hard as always. Well the other day we were super busy. This was a few weeks ago, but we had no backup cashiers. So me being the bagger, my boss put me on register, and I did fairly well. Well a couple days later they throw me on register again. And from then, they throw me on register a ton. I'm very good. They went as far to tell me I've been promoted to a cashier. But I'm still getting bagger hours. So I'm not sure what's up with that. But my weakness on register is I'm terrible at memorizing produce codes. Any tips for me?

They want you to scan the stickers on the produce.  Some produce don't have stickers on them but it's a very small amount now .

If you're 17, why are you running a register? You have to be 18 to run a register due to alcohol sales. A minor can't be responsible for selling alcohol to a minor.

Not necessarily. You can be an underage cashier, but you will need to call someone else to scan and ring in alcohol for you. In my state, you have to be 19 to sell alcohol.

This is how it is in my store and state as well.

In my state, you have to be 18 to serve alcohol. Therefore, you have to be 18 to be a cashier. My store hires minors as CC's.
