So lost this is the most f*ed up place ever.

So I started at Ralphs about a month1/2 ago not including "training".  Working in the Service Deli.  This is just some of the many incomprehensible situations that have come up that  I need to ask some of you folks to help me out with.  Though I suspect there are no solutions to the dysfunctional management at Ralphs.

 

I am part time and obviously still in probation.  I also right away on my first day signed up with the Union.  Though of course I paid $50 for some of my initiation dues Ralphs has not started deducting any Union dues or start up fees themselves yet.  I was told that would take like 4 weeks.

 

1.  The deli manager here was just transferred from another store like 2 months ago.  Whenever I have any personal questions for her she outright lies or just doesn't know and is an expert at evading and passing the buck ie Who are the shop stewards at the store?  Her answer there are none! 

Why did you schedule me outside of the hours I'm available that I indicated when I was hired and also shown on HR express? (I'm available 7 days a week just not 24 hours a day.) She knows this the hiring manager discussed it with her right in front of me before I was hired and showed her my availability.  Her answer I don't do the scheduling!  The other managers just switch it around any way they want. 

My question I can't work that night because of my husbands schedule her answer well talk to the store director.  After tracking him down on my break running up and down the whole store and through the upstairs offices twice he promises to talk  to me about it but then never shows up to discuss anything with me!  I put notes up telling her I can't work so far into the night on that day in the schedule and she takes them down. 

2.  When I filled out my applications I put N/A for my middle name I don't have one.  Ever since then everything from Ralphs including my paycheck and rewards card lists my  middle name as N.  WTF?  Tried to change it myself on HR express but not allowed for me to change it.  Told my hiring manager who is a front end manager she just shrugs her shoulders and looks at me like I'm crazy even when I show her proof.  There is no HR at our store.  There is no one I know who could fix this.  I even called HR express myself and they said the store has to call them.

3.  This is the most f#ed up part.  I am getting my paychecks but guess what the hiring manager put the very last # of my SS wrong!  I have been pointing it out to her for the past 2 and a half weeks and she just shrugs her shoulders and tells me each time "I told you I would fix it"  Fricken when????? All these paychecks and the taxes and soicial security deducted are getting filed under someone elses SS#.  I called HR express they say all she has to do is fricken call them it'll take 5 minutes what is her fricken problem.  If this continues till tax time I'm going to have a huge problem on my hands and not only that so will Kroger it'll be harder to fix then..

Someone anyone please what the hell should I do?  Besides not work there? 

I need this job though.

Why should I assume he/she will be concerned with my problems when no one else in the whole store is?

Seems like talking to the boss here is like the Bob Marley song how many rivers do we have to cross before we get to talk to the boss?

I would love to call management bad names. They are such cult of personality jerks. I'm not asking for some big deal. What kind of company doesn't care that they put your middle name down as N/A because the hiring manager didn't know what N/A on an application means and then nobody cares to change an incorrect SS# I brought my SS# card to show her 2x already and told 4 managers about the SS# problem and everyone just passes the buck.

Wow you have good manners. I simply asked how I would get this elusive distract managers name and or #. Why don't you stop if you are gonna be so ineffective at giving out your so called advice.

I have to feed trolls all day that's my job. Its a horrible job but the trolls are all hungry all day long.

M or F on an app is fill in the bubble


"Not Applicable" or "N/A" is often seen on forms or in tables or for questions. It's the answer you would give if a question did not apply to you. For example, if there were a question "What is your date of marriage?", but you have never been married, you could answer "N/A", because the question does not apply to you. As I'm sure is applicable in your case.



With computer applications every space must be filled in with an answer or it will not let you submit the application.

I guess I should have put for the answer:

I DONT HAVE A MIDDLE NAME MOFO

then that's what the hiring manager at Ralphs would have entered as my middle name instead of N/A like she did.

Of course that's what I have to keep on doing. I just don't understand why they haven't yet its literally 5 minutes of time for them to call HR Express I mean my taxes will be so messed up under someone elses SS# if she doesn't change it soon. Shes had over 2 weeks to change it and I've been reminding her constantly.

I think you should go to the store on your day off and sit in the managers  office until someone fixes all your problems.

And While you are in there call the hr person you talked to before and see if they could talk to the comanager right now. Then put them on hold and page the  comanager and tell them they have a phone call.

Then look around the office, find the ethics hotline number and bitch to them for awhile.

Then call the social security office and let them know what is happening. 

After all that if problems aren't fixed hire a lawyer. You might try Hillary Clinton. I hear she has nothing to do now.

I check HR express everyday still the same wrong name still the same last digit on my SS#. I have a feeling she the front end manager will never fix this. Should I talk to the accounting person about this? I've already talked to the service deli manager and assistant manager, the safety council manager, and the front end manager. Out of all these people no one has fixed this problem for me. They did take a copy of my ss card though which didn't do any good apparently because no one called it in.

Oh and since the service deli manager won't give me the name of the Union shop stewards at the store I have no way of knowing who these people are. I only know who the Union Rep is. I may call the Union Rep soon about this.

Why not call human resources yourself? Does management have to be the one to call?
Be foe armed of a wait though, they can leave you on hold indefinitely EVEN IF there are plenty if people there to take calls. Hold kroger responsible. This is their mess, they need to fix it.

Yes I'l have called HR Express myself twice now.  There is no store HR force its a call center no wait really only about 3 minutes each time.  Though they are sympathetic they need a call from a manager who has the proper credentials to call HR Express and confirm my ss#, I could be trying to commit fraud with a fake ss#.
