i'm on the night crew and we all get 8 hours a day 5 days a week. our store isn't the most massive, but we get a ton of business and need a crew of at least 4 people working an 8 hour shift at the same time. we just got a new CSM who is hellbent on changing how absolutely EVERYTHING is run in every department. this includes jumping through her hoops and trying to adapt these BS new systems that will supposedly "improve efficiency" but it ends up making everything take twice as long to finish. the worst part of it is that our hours are getting cut, not just night crew, but everyone in the whole store. the icing on the fecal sundae was me going into work expecting to work 11p-7a as i usually do, only to be told that I would have to leave at 3am due to hours being cut. so now we have to work grocery and peyton with a fraction of the hours and manpower. my only hope is that the CSM will see how garbage her new implementations are and realizes that it's damn near impossible for a crew of 3 people to do 10 pallets in 8 hours.
is anyone else's hours getting shafted at their store? it seems to be the case elsewhere as well.
The only real solution is to come in, do what you can and leave when you're scheduled to leave. You can't be forced to do anything less than what's on the schedule. You can be asked to do more, but not less.

Depending on your contract, they can't make you leave at 3am unless you were scheduled that shift.
Schedules are to be posted by noon on Saturday. No changes can be made after noon per most contracts unless you and management agree to it.
Of course, they can change the next schedule to have you leave at 3 am.
At that point, you let the store managers figure out how all the work is going to get done. Go in, do what you can do and leave when you are supposed to. I hate rolling pallets to the back room and leaving stock left unran.
Don't panic, don't worry. Do what you can do and let the managers deal with trucks not getting done. Pick priorities.
The store must be conditioned unless told otherwise. Trucks must be received if delivered overnight. The order must be done. If I know I am short people, I will roll laundry and dish soap and pet food to the back. The other aisles are more important. And, if day crew is going to screw something up, I would rather it be those aisles.
If you come in the next night and that stock is still there, run that first. If you are able to get a day behind, the managers might ease up on the hour cutting.

Since when is it the customer service manager's business as to what goes on in other departments. The customer service manager is in charge of the front end, period.
