So I've been a clerk for about 2 years and I have recently finished college and am looking for higher up fulltime work. Bigger stores, like the one I am from, have an in-house HR person. How do you become that person? These positions never show up on the company's website. While I'm asking, my degree isn't HR but it's similar. Do I have any real chance of getting one?
I saw a thread similar to this 3 weeks ago but that was more for becoming a HR Generalist with the company at the corporate level.
As far as by me, you need to have management training / college related degree to be in management. They won't let you be in the Core 4 (Grocery Manager, HR / Service Ops Manager, Co-Manager, Store Director) without it as that goes through Corporate I think vs the actual store positions. I'm not entirely sure though.
Don't bother. Last I heard, Kroger is eliminating that position and putting the co-managers in charge of it. I've been with Kroger for over 30 years and it's only been withing the last five or seven years that that job has even existed in the first place.
