Why all the complainig about the Local 1996 MOA?

Walmart only pays $9 an hour until pathways is completed, which takes a considerable amount of time. Not to mention there's no health Insurance for PT, and even FT health Insurance can't hold a candle to the health Insurance at Kroger. My stepdad works a corporate job at a health Insurance company and his plan looks like a joke in comparison. Let's not even get started on things like pensions, which are unheard of in the working class world nowadays.

The grass isn't greener on the other side.

We are complaining because:

There is NO profit sharing

There is NO competitive hourly wage - most places here START at $10.00 an hour

NO one hour lunch for an 8 hour shift like most companies

NO limits on the number of special-needs people being hired (we are NOT babysitters)

Health insurance premiums double under the new contract in two years

NO provisions for being CLOSED on Thanksgiving and Easter like most grocery stores here

Now talk to me about how great that new contract is!!! <snort>

Bet your stepdad's paycheck doesn't look like a
joke, and that's the bottom line.

Maybe 10 an hour starting off is a little much, but damn they can at least do "merit-based" wages every 3 months that are more than 25 cents.

15 cents every 6 months (regardless of performance) is a sick joke.
