Customer First Promise Team
Permalink

I among a few others at my store was chosen by our store manager to become part of the customer first promise team. At first I thought it was just a bunch of nonsense like many other things but it is more about changing the morale of customers and associates so I am at least optimistic about it.

The meeting at first was a bit comical as we were given warm bottled (kroger brand) water, mini candies from those big candy bags and the mini bags of chips. I wish I could wear the shirt they gave us all the time the fabric is a lot better than those navy blue shirts that seem to get every spec of dust and dirt stuck in the fabric.

I learned how "ghetto" my store was compared to others as we are not a "small store" but we aren't those several million dollar a week/day stores either had things like the salad bar/olive bar and pizza shop taken out over the years they finally brought back the doughnut case though.

I am truly going to put effort in to making this project work even though it will be very difficult. And as much as I see problems where I work I see great things as well and I am happy with 99 percent of the customers and I get along with all the people I work with or at least on a friendly face to face basis.

I wish Kroger would enact a protocol that states "When the customer is right". and "When the customer is wrong".  Not all customers are right.

Until the Krog changes their philosophy regarding in-store employees you are wasting your facking time. And that ain't never going to happen so sorry to break the bad news to you.

Never heard of the Customer First Promise Team-does it replace the Cultural Council?

Yes,  the promise team replaced Cultural Council, and the goal is to " Feed the Human Spirit "

It's just the same stuff we've had around for years repackaged under new terminology. Until fundamental changes happen to how the company time things, nothing is gonna boost morale

Courtesy of enthusiastic Uplifter, Craig Kelley, who seems to have corrupted Uplift into a rehashing of standard operating procedure.

No one knows anything about what's going on with the "Our Promise, Our Purpose, yet these are weekly meetings headed by the store manager, supposedly to ensure cultural changes in the store. NOT WORKING when you have a sociopath at the top rather than someone who wants to engage associates.   -- Anonymous

No no no.

Much like the Cultural Council, the whole point of the Customer First Promise Team is to get a free lunch on the clock and to rig the car drawings.

You are doing it completely wrong.
