drug/gm too, huh?

I officially think kroger just lost its mind :|. I mean, seriously. They force a system that does not work onto night crews and watch them fail. Now drug/gm too? Expecting a department with 130 hours (aka - 2 full time people and 2 part time people) to even have the time to do that bull**** when drum/gm is already falling apart district-wide?

The amount of stupidity, its blowing my mind. and this is coming from a NIGHT LEADER.

Who had a sobbing drum/gm manager come up to me asking how the **** its supposed to work. And all I can tell them is it DOESNT and WONT. Its a giant waste of time and all they do is jack off to the thought of controlling us. WHY do you want us to quit so badly?

This system is so broken, it's not even funny. Drug Gm at my store isn't that bad, but still, it's bad

Speaking of the new system for Night Grocery, how do I explain to management it doesn't work? I'm getting frustrated with my boss coming to me every single morning, and hounding me when it doesn't get done and I know a lot of people are about to quit out of my department. They point to the time sheet, which only counts for putting things in the shelf, but refuse to acknowledge bringing the truck down, breaking down mixed pallets, working the back stock (after they recently put our minimums skyhigh) conditioning, and lows and holes IS NOT included in the time sheet.

Everyone's staying over to complete the job now, and I've got people who have been with Kroger for more than a decade looking for new jobs. Then if someone wants to follow their schedule and leave on time, management will write them up for not finishing, pointing to the sheet which is ruining my part-timers (which they also cut the hours in half for, whereas it used to be 34+ a week it's 12-18 so many of them got a second job).

I'm honestly at wits end about this.

OP here. I dont know all the details about the drum/gm system, as I only got a secondhand account from my drug/gm manager. But basically, now Drum/GM will be expected to stock 85 cases an hour as well at the dry grocery night crew. They will have their own system of syocking that will be expected to be followed. Like the night crews, they will be expected to work backstock first and keep the wheels out by the aisles.

They have to put product onto wheels and then stage the product at the end of the aisle until its ready to be stocked, at which point they move the product into the aisles and stock them there, at which point you would move it directly to the backstock wheel. Etc. They time spent stocking the boxes (and only stocking) will be calculated to show cases per hour for every stocker on the team. It will be displayed on a poster that every employee will be able to see, including employees whos business does NOT include knowing anything about the productivity of your department. The only major difference it seems is the fact that totes have to be counted as well, and must be worked first. I dunno

I seriously have no idea how thats supposed to work. Youre touching the product 3-5 times. AND this is supposed to take place throughout the daytime, while customers are out and about.

What Im trying to explain to my drug/gm is that they cannot and will not hold anyone accountable to the 85 cases per hour. Honestly, the counting of the cases is the least of your concern. You will struggle HARD to finish trucks that you used to be able to finish relatively easily. Its the damn truth. I just dont know how heavily it will be regulated due to store management basically staring you down the whole time. Theyre up my ass constantly about it, I wouldnt be able to handle it if I had to work with them.
