How do I deal with a bitter lightly racist F.E.S.?
My F.E.S. has extreme favoritism towards individuals of color.He is black and I am Caucasian.It is reverse racism.He is bitter and rude towards me.Insults me, belittles me and nit picks every wrong detail about my job.He insults his cashiers by picking favorites and quoting phrases such as "You are the best thing that ever came to this store." Shakes his eyes towards those he does not like. He spends half his shift talking to coworkers and following them around.He is vary rarely present when work needs to be done.Unless you're a favorite he's bitter and rude.I've done a few exorcises to expose his racism and even the customers are a bit baffled.I've done nothing wrong to him other than transfer stores.It's as if my presence is an eye sore to him.Customers complain about him, if I call a cashier to assist with lines he bitches to me about how I'm doing his job and gets rude towards me the rest of the day.I often half to request my break as he "forgets it".
I ask because "forgetting" someones break is very illegal, and ESPECIALLY if you're a minor. He could get in major trouble for that. If I were you, I would go above his head straight to co-managers or even the store manager to have a talk about it. He will definitely be kept under watch for a period of time. If you can get other employees to back you up, the better it becomes.
Go to your Front End Lead first before approaching a member of management and address the concerns. Otherwise go to your HR manager with your Lead and explain the situation. This wouldn't fly at my store, as either the Lead would have a coaching with them/ management would have a meeting with said employee, or if it got nasty or just pissed off management, Store Director or a Co Manager along with LP would show them the door personally after or during shift if this stuff happened.

I'm in my mid thirties. I believe he is a little bit older than me. He's nippy towards me, picks on me constantly about even lightly touching my hair, makes rude comments... Very rarely does he actually do his fes job. Half his shift he talks to coworkers and follows them around. Other half he is at the podium to self check just staring. When there is work to be done he's never to be found. If I call for a cashier he gets rude, snips a few arrogant comments towards me.He's basically an ass towards me and bitter most of the time. Vary rarely do I hear words of encouragement for him.Almost every thing I do is an eye sore to him.
