it's that time of year, folks: christmas music time! i left work on thursday morning with the usual in-store audio playing, had thursday night off, and I come in friday night, and lo and behold! 200 renditions of i'll be home for christmas bombard my ears. on top of that, the service desk and produce are adorned with wreathes and lights already! i know it's beating a dead horse saying this, but can we wait til december for christmas? just my $0.02.

The worst part is that there's only about two dozen popular carols.

We still have our generally ignorable playlist mixed in, which is less horrifying than it could be.

Goddamn, a few years back they started Christmas music on Halloween night.  I'm glad that waited this long.  Although, I'm disappointed they waited this long to put out the Christmas display. I really love mixing the Halloween and Christmas displays together. Skeletons with Santa?  Sublime.

Except I started hearing Christmas repeats for or five hours in.  By the same group, I mean.  That's not good.

My least favorite Christmas carol is "Last Christmas".  It's not even a Christmas carol; it just has the word "Christmas" in the lyrics.  "The 12 Days of Christmas" is a close second since that's about how long the song is.

No Christmas songs yet in my store. But oh yes, the decorations have been up for a while now. I've seen more Frosty the snow statue left right and center mixed in with the cinnamon scented pine cones.

Just it irks me even more because of my bday being at the end of November. And can barely enjoy my turkey coma and eventual bday presents without the store already being set up for Christmas and co-workers singing Christmas songs. At least wait til Dec. 1st is all I ask.

Really no Christmas music yet? How can that be? I thought all stores were on the same music network. I noticed the music got louder they really need to turn it down. Last time it was loud people complained and they finally turned it down. I heard it this morning in our conference room with the door closed.

My store started putting up "Christmas" decorations and sale items the morning after Halloween. However,I have looked at all the decorations in and out of the store and NOWHERE is the word Christmas used, the word holiday is ALWAYS used in it's place.

So from Kroger to you, have a merry holiday.no

Nada, more than enough pop music than you can shake a stick at. Most especially NSYNC, Brittany Spears, and so forth. I swear I could win a karaoke battle in my sleep off those songs. But not one deck the halls or nothing just yet.

This year, I believe, we are due to hear either a multitude on variations of Jingle Bells, or Rudolph. Last year it was Frosty The Snowman.

I would log in but forgot password. I will say this I actually like older music better than this new pop music. The new Top 40 Hot AC New Country all sound the same. I mostly listen to old country music but also like 50/60's old rock. And as for the Christmas music I like the old Bing Crosby music. And as for the Merry Christmas thing. I am a Christian and I have always said I am going to say

Merry Christmas not Happy Holidays. I will take a stand on what I believe in and sorry to offend anyone it is just what is right. I am not saying Happy Holidays is wrong and I know some people

do not celebrate Christmas but Christmas has always been used and will continue to be used by me and I will fight this in court if I had to.

Boy, ain't that the truth. It DOES all sound the same...................every singer is a slight variation on a  shrill,tinny,high-pitched shrieking wail........all the voices are being fed through the AUTO-TUNE software, along with WAY too much background chaotic "music" tracks and much assistance with backup singers (or multiple tracks of the main singer) which makes it hard to tell what their voices really sound like......no individuality.........both guys and girls sound similar.  You need to go back to pre-1980 music to hear men with MALE voices and women with FEMALE voices.  Very few guy singers nowadays are 'permitted' to be stars if they have a low, masculine-sounding voice.  A few exceptions in country music, but not many.   And so-called country music recorded today is just rock with a little bit of twang to "satisfy" the fans. It sounds nothing like CLASSIC country from the 1960s-1970s period.

My store not only has christmas decorations already up, but the front end employees are already wearing santa hats and those battery powered christmas light necklaces and we're giving out candy canes.

I'm sorry, but our twisted little In-Store Audio Network does NOT...I repeat DOES NOT...need to play 50 different versions of this... no

And they've been doing it every single year for several years now!!! bleh

Uh, excuse me, guys, but there are a lot more carols out there in Winter Wonderland! How about a more diverse playlist??? yawn
