Can I ask human resources to transfer me to another store?

The managers at this store are really bad. I know they are bad at all Kroger's,but this store is REALLY bad.

Yes. they will give you a sheet in which you write the store number you want to transfer to. You give it to your store and they make a copy for you to take to the store you want to go to. You go and talk to that stores management and if they have a spot for you you can transfer

 Sure. But if you are a department head, backup, or very valuable full time employee, expect delays or to not get accepted at all. I had a co manager at my current store call the store manager of the store I wanted to transfer to and tell him that I would not be a good fit for his store, in so many words. Ever since then I really learned how Kroger values their employees and the kind of people they put into management roles. Don't ever trust any co-manager, they're all cut throat and just trying to do whatever they can to one day become a store manager.

      You can ask, but it isn't necessarily going to happen. Ive been asking for a year now, I take this as they must think I'm valuable to their store. So they don't want me to leave. I just wish they would say that.

No management can not force you to transfer to another store.  It's your personal decision.  Not management.
