Your family complaining to you
Permalink

Does anyone else have this problem? When I'm off the clock on my days off and I'm visiting my parents or other family members in the area, a lot of times they'll complain to me about stuff at Kroger. My aunt in particular likes to give me a list of complaints ("why are they always out on weekends? You should tell them that people shop on the weekend!" "Why did the bakery change their bread bags? You should tell them that no one likes the new bags!") They don't complain in person at the store but expect me to speak on their behalf (I don't) when I go to work. Even if I don't work in the departments in question.

Yes, my family does the same. I tell them, Kroger is going to listen to the customer before they listen to the employees

Yes.  Customers do that to me.  I just tell them I scan barcodes and provide customer service.  Beyond that take it to the company.  Your complaint will go as far as me.  I've tried to forward your messages before.  Management doesn't give a crap about it.

I tell them I just go "beep beep beep" all day while making the scanning motions, and that I don't even know how to get ahold of corporate.  And that corporate doesn't care anyways.

Your aunt sounds like a bitch.  If she wasn't a bitch, I'd tell her to fill out the surveys since every now and then they are taken seriously.  Otherwise, I would whip out my phone right in front of her and call the store every time.  "Hello.  My aunt would like to know why you are always out on weekends.  No, she wasn't specific.  Ok, I'll tell her to ask for a rain check next time.  Also, she feels that you should know that people shop during the weekend.  I see.  Thank you, bye."

"Hello, is this the bakery?  My aunt wants me to ask you why you changed your bread bags.  No, I don't know which bags.  She also wants me to tell you that no one likes them.  Yeah, I know.  Hold on, she's right here!  Let me put her on!"

I would tell them, I agree.  There are people at Kroger whose job it is to change things that don't need fixed.  Give them the number to your KMA office.
