Clicklist Lead
Permalink

Im currently the Nutrition Lead at my store, but come after mothers day my store is getting remodeled and my department is getting phased out. Recently the clicklist lead at my store got promoted to Manager..... so my store manager suggested I take his place as Lead. I accepted the change, because more and more stores are just beginning to add clicklist... so id have a leg up  and experience to interview for the manager position. I start training at another store next week, so I kinda have a few questions.

What exactly are the duties of the Lead compared to the average selector/attendant.

What exactly are the duties of the Lead compared to the salaried position.

When behind, a ClickList Lead is expected to perform the same tasks that a Selector or Attendant is capable of in order to help the department catch up. So, a Lead needs to know how to be an efficient Selector and Attendant first and foremost. Additionally, this helps the Lead coach Selectors/Attendants to perform better at their jobs. Plus too, Leads are supposed to regularly perform audits along with the e-Commerce Supervisor in order to ensure Selectors and Attendants are following ClickList Best Practices. So, a Lead really needs to know from top to bottom the rights and wrongs of selecting/attending.

When the department isn't behind, a ClickList Lead is responsible for going out on the sales floor to look for "outs"/out of stocks - stuff Selectors don't pick/substitute, but instead out of stock either because the customer isn't allowing subs or because the Selector couldn't find a good sub option (... or didn't try hard enough to). The ClickList Lead also reviews subs and decides whether something is a good sub and can stay or needs to be replaced with a better sub. This also sometimes involves doing price changes/corrections via a touchscreen terminal in the ClickList Staging Area. A ClickList Lead must make sure that all service counter items get dropped off and completed in a timely manner. Speaking of a timely manner, a Lead needs to watch and see if order strips are being run and completed quick enough so that trolleys are coming back at least one hour before scheduled pick up time. At minimum, be three hours ahead so that there is ample time to look for outs/review subs/do price adjustments/get service counter staged, etc...

The ClickList Lead runs the department when the e-Commerce Supervisor isn't there and takes on all responsibilities as well, but when the e-Commerce Supervisor is there, the two generally split/share the workload. When the e-Commerce Supervisor is there, he/she is in charge, but when he/she isn't there, it's the Lead that's in charge. If the e-Commerce Supervisor isn't there, then the Lead has to address customer issues, deal with management as necessary, oversee the Selectors/Attendants as well as deal with issues that may come up relating to them, and try to get their breaks out in a reasonably timely manner without putting the department behind.

That's the general idea. There's more to it, but not all stores do things the same way.
