How many women work in your store's meat department? I'm just curious. I'm the only woman in our meat department. Of course, it doesn't matter what gender is working in which department, but it always seems to be men in meat. Again, just curious.
Across several stores I'm familiar with (Dallas Division), every Seafood Lead has been female. One of those has been promoted to assistant department head, and another of those Meat departments is headed by a woman.
Meat department is a male dominated field for some reason but now that he mentions it, I've known 2 female seafood leads as well in my district. There's a Female assistant meat manager in my home store as well and I know of one female meat manager as well,
Its mostly men but plenty of women can make it in the meat department.

Used to be 4. But the most lasting one has been the Seafood lead and another older lady. But the newest younger chick has been gone for a while now and the other slightly younger woman that was working there. I think is on a LOA since having her 3rd or 4th baby. But yea, never been too many women that worked over there, from what I've seen.
Currently one, but in the past has been 3 or 4. I'm a male seafood lead, but I took over from a female lead who retired. There seemed to be more female meat employees when there was still a meat wrapper classifcation, but that may have just been in the stores I was at.
