My husband Company require this Type of testing for insurance. Im on his insurance because its such great coverage and its really no big deal. They are just wanting people to find a doctor and be comfortable with Them to discuss issues. Also its a great heads up on thing light weight issues blood pressure and sugar levels. Nothing you should be testing once a year anyways.
Ours in the Cinci-Dayton division charges something like $3 extra a week. I didn't get around to doing it but it seemed like it was just some bloodwork and stuff.
Have you ever purchased a health plan for your self outside a company? Do you to realizing how much youre saving by only paying $10/$15 a month for it? Or would you rather pay for a crabby catastrophic plan thats like $700 a month? Me thinks you do not live in the real world.

The biometric screenings in the Cincy/Dayton division are simple and take like 15 minutes if that. The pharmacist does it in store, and all it is is a simple blood pressure/blood sugar/cholesterol check. There's plenty of things to be paranoid about but i don't think this is one of them.
Interesting. In the MI division the union uses the straight BCBS list, so we can see pretty much any doctor. The screening is optional and we are not penalized for skipping it. We are given $150 toward our deductible if we pass it.

As disappointing as it may seem. Be lucky that it took this long. Ive benn paying for my insurance and doing the Bio screening for about 6 years.
The King Sooper division has been doing bio metric screenings for years.
We get incentive dollars for each area you pass and it is used towards deductibles and other medical costs.
It's really no bother at all, since the tests can be done at either the pharmacy or a Little Clinic for no cost to the employee.
Your personal doctor can also do it, at no cost to you, either.
You've got some people complaining about the insurance procedures here (Really, the screening is nothing...Been doing them 2-3 years now) and there are others whose sole reason it is to work at Kroger is just to receive the insurance benefits! Compared to what's out there, we have a pretty decent plan! And I know what it's like to have and to NOT have insurance for those major medical issues...Big difference!
Original poster here-I have SERIOUS privacy concerns regarding this. There isn't any provision in the contract to protect us from Kroger accessing this into. Google "employee wellness programs" and there are tons of articles -most of which saying it is a bad idea. Besides, the insurance company that is offered in the southern division my doctor does not accept.
