Does any one ever catch a customer not putting the right item back where it goes? I witness some fat ass put a gallon of milk in the freezer last night and another customers put some chips in the freeze as well. Just lazy *******s at best.
I find random items on the shelves all the time. The items that make me especially mad are frozen packs of ground beef, other meats, and frozen items just laying on grocery shelves going bad or melting. People are stupid and lazy. All customers have to do is give the item to an associate either at check out or on the floor and say I dont want it. It can get taken back to shelf or given to person in department for a customer who does.
Few days ago I ran after a customer who left an item behind just few steps from where he had picked it up, while yelling "excuse me, you forgot this?". He looked at me, hit his forehead with his hand, and said "oh my, sorry, yes I forgot it". : DD
Fed up with items left at random places, even on my cart when working on the floor, while I AM THERE! Including trash, half eaten foods and hand wipes. I work with food, morons. Your food as well. Do you really like someone's used paper towel next to your food?

At least your lazy customers leave stuff in the freezer.
Our lazy customers leave meat, milk, ICE CREAM... out in the open, like in between check stands, and in random aisles. Like today I found a tub of ice cream stuff in the potato chips aisle.
They're too lazy to tell the ****ing cashier, who's right ****ing next to them that they don't want something. So they just stuff it in between the candy and magazines in the check stand.
I also hate the customers who steal my reshop carts. Those carts have stuff in them. So what they do is, they unload the stuff, sometimes just dumping them on the ****ing floor, or stuff them in an aisle where they don't belong, and take the cart.
Like, at least ask before you take what could be someone else's cart.

Happened to me. Except I had quite a few price changes on my cart. I come back to it and all my stuff is on the floor. I really wanted to chase that sob down.

I never witness that specifically, but I can't tell you how many damn times I find items in the wrong places, most commonly in the snack isle for some reason. Once I found coffee creamer (that needs to be refrigerated) in the soda pop isle, that pissed me the most I think.

The practice of customers putting anything back anywhere (where it doesn't belong) is a constant, in every department, every day, all the time. I would guess that Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are the worse, just because we are busier those days, and a lot of people are just plain more inconsiderate, in a rush, and/or just plain mean.
I can say that here in produce, here are a couple ACTUAL examples that come to mind.
1) A large slab of pork ribs (shrink-wrapped in clear plastic) laid directly on top of packs of blueberries and strawberries in the berry refrigerated case.
2) A large package of raw chicken (maybe 3 or 4 pounds in weight) laid on top of a pile of apples on front display table.
and MANY, MANY others, but can't think of specific examples off the top of my head. I usually pick up at least half a dozen (or many more) random go-backs lying around the produce dept each morning. Such as cookies, candy bars, packaged nuts (from the bakery aisle), canned veggies, bologna, crackers, playing cards, frozen personal pizzas, plastic toys, you name it.
Sure. Our store is a bit ghetto, so we have tons of go backs.
Today in particular, I was cashiering and watched a customer ditch frozen items on top of the candy at the register. I asked her why, and what she thought happened to those items. She was so upset she called the store from the parking lot and complained that I was very rude.

Wow what a loser ass customer. Hopefully you didn't get grief for it.
