Learn to invest your money properly.  CD's are the lowest gamble.  Money markets are the second lowest gamble.  Zero risk loss basically.  If you have more money find a good investor to let your funds grow.  This is what I do or there is no possible way to retire from Kroger.  Trust me there's not.  You'll always be tight with money.  So save, save save.  If you properly budget your funds well you can easily set one paycheck aside.  If you live with people, stop frivolously spending and save.
