Regarding this recent debate over employees refusing to clean up human waste in their store's bath rooms, here's a challenge:
I know there are many people on this forum who are not Kroger employees, but we shop there. So from now on, when you're in one of these stores and you see garbage like the above described, well......do an Undercover Boss coup. Take it to management. Get the floor staff involved. Put a case on the situation, and see if/how fast it gets resolved.
Me? I'll give you a full hour. I come back and the problem still exists, I'll use my phone's visual and audio documents to get District, Regional, which ever level of management I need to to rain HOLY HELL down on the offending store..
....and all its worthless 'employees'. So for you jackasses on here been running your mouths, get ready. You don't know if I mean your store----or if someone else on here accepts this challenge, and THEY put the case on you.
I agree too. I shop at kroger and other places and I'm tired of seeing just disgusting messes and people not caring at all. time to make them accountable.
Yeah, ok. As for me, my contribution to your suggestion will be ****ting and pissing all over the bathrooms. I don't want your "undercover boss" vigilante posse efforts to be in vain. God bless you and yours!

Hey bring Undercover Boss in. Maybe then management will get told where their real problem is. Maybe the CEO will see what's really going on. Bring Undercover Boss. I'm not afraid, because I do my job and do it well.

Empty threat. You and your phone can play white knight all you want it won't achieve anything.

Amen to that!! OP sounds upset cause some one probably took a **** on them.
And yet not one of you nutless wonders will list your store number or location. That means you're not only worthless, you're chicken sh!t.
'Nuff from me. In doing this I've showed everyone on here exactly what you are, why you're where you're at and how you'll never, e v e r exceed anything better in life.

Have you read the Sticky notes by 'The Dude'? We are not to give that information out. That can get an employee fired if they are posting negative things about a specific store or person who works for that store.

Did you mean 'achieve' anything better in life? As in better than cleaning up your ****? I don't so, I HAVE achieved better. Why don't you clean up your own ****?! Since your balls are so BIG, list YOUR store number and/or location and if, God willing, I'm ever in your neck of the woods, I will personally **** all over your store's bathroom. And I'll do it 'undercover' too, like a 'boss'!!!

If you intentionally soil the bathroom just so they have to clean it up, you're part of the problem, not the solution. I used to always have to clean s*** like that in the bathroom. It f****** sucks and it should NEVER be done intentionally.

Man I wasn't even part of this, but I gravitated to this. I was not born to a middle class family, I did not have many advantages through life. I was diagnosed mentally ill at 30 cause it was the first time I could afford a doctor. I been working with no employment gaps since I was 15.
I don't really appreciate being talked down about by what I see as essentially a welfare queen.
I don't see you being a big man and actually engaging anyone about this. You cower on the internet Anonymously even though you have NO stakes in this entire thing, just another piece of **** with too much time on its hands bullying people at a lower social class. I'm sorry your life is so empty and I hope you find the peace you need to quit being such a disgusting scumbag. Thanks man. I know you won't listen to any of this, but holy ****. You called half a million people worthless. I don't think you bring much to the table yourself man.

I am no longer part of the oppressed, evil workforce of Kroger! Can you say "Hallelujah"
I'm not posting g my personal info. You'll NEVER get that out of me. All I am.saying is that our policy states management cleans stuff like that unless we are properly trained. And that comes from management themselves at our store. Now we do have a few select employees (myself.included) that have been recently trained. I have no problem with that. And our UCS have been signed up to be trained.
Yeah i'm not saying my store location, although i'm not really hiding it either. If anyone was a *really* good detective they probably could figure it out... besides, i guess i am nutless, considering that i'm not a guy... lol
But i don't know why this turned into a huge debate. There are people in each store who are trained to do each job. I am not on a high horse here, it's just the truth. I am not assigned to clean bathrooms. Those who are, are the ones told to do that job.
I really doubt there's any stores that have restrooms in as bad of shape as this stupid thread anyway, because they have to write down who's doing restroom cleaning checks every time!

This sounds to me like a bunch of people who want to put employees of Kroger "in their place." The ****'s our job after all.
Here's a hint: the bathrooms are a specific dept's job in the store. They do the cleaning because they are trained to. Nobody here who handles food is gonna clean the **** and then go back to handling food. I wouldn't. I wouldn't want to buy from a meat or deli or really anywhere that did have its employees prepping food and also cleaning the bathrooms. And if you want to bitch about it, bitch to the big man. They cut our hours so bad that we can barely get our product on the shelf, let alone fix it, or make it nice, or clean around it, or do another department's job. Get some ****ing empathy. Bathrooms are gross. Welcome to America.
The forum rules here say NOT to post personal information. So nobody here should do that. Period. Get off the internet and eat a Snickers. ****.
Alright, I think it's time to educate everybody (employees and customers alike) on exactly why not just anyone should clean up human waste and why Kroger has a specific policy in place:
Suppose a random employee/customer does clean up the mess. Then later they come down with a serious illness or disease that is spread by bodily fluids/waste. And after that they decide to sue Kroger, since it was the mess in their restroom that caused the illness...Kroger doesn't want that, so they use similar rules to the healthcare industry. Healthcare facility rules state that all body fluid/waste is to be treated as potentially bio-hazardous. Training on how to deal with it is required, and isn't as straightforward as the OP wants to believe. It is my understanding that only courtesy clerks or management are trained in the proper use of PPE and disposal when it comes to this.
The suggested way to deal with messes in the bathrooms is to let the people trained on how to do it right take care of it. If nobody takes care of it eventually another customer will say something to management. If the problem is too frequent or just never gets taken care of to customer satisfaction, lock the bathroom doors and have customers get a key when they need to use it. I know some stores do this already based on some other posts in this forum. That should be enough to prevent the problem.

Let me make this clear to you: They don't ignore it. Stores get very busy and the cashier or stocker you told it either forgot, became busy, or was unable to find a person trained to do it.
Your best bet is to:
a) Tell a bagger AND a red vest. b) Tell a manager or front end supervisor.
THEN MOVE ON.
The restroom checks are one of the first things to get pushed aside when you're running on a skeleton crew and have management breathing down your neck to "engage everyone" and in some cases be everywhere while doing the work of 3 people. You let them know and they will get someone to clean it asap. If you need to use the restroom but it's dirty ask for someone to come back and clean it so you can use it. There should be no expectation of everything being clean all the time - that's just you being entitled and unreasonable.

Would you like fries with th... I mean, your milk in a bag?
Like said above, yes, only those properly trained should be cleaning it, hell I had to review and refresh on our policies regarding this recently since it was required. Only a UC or management by me may clean it, all others are to keep back and or report immediately using this checklist A) Secure the area and isolate the substance using whatever means necessary to form a barrier: carts, employees, etc. B) Guard the area and send someone else if able to report the spill C) keep customers out of the way and follow instructions given by the appropriate personnel when they arrive
There is a little tidbit called size-up for those who are trained in cleaning these spills know about so that way we can assess and determine the safest and most prudent course of action while dealing with the issue at hand. Poop smeared in the bathroom and all over the floor, ok. Get service desk to prep out of order signs while peeking in initially to assess, gather equipment and PPE up, taking a store phone in with you so you can call for help in things you need. I had to have the mop water and mop changed twice once when i responded to a spill in the women's restroom, no way i am stepping out of the restroom until I am fully assured i will not track it in the store, as that will pose a health hazard otherwise and that can bring the attention of the Health Dept down on the store, which then turns very bad if they decide to peek in and crank it to 11.Go in protected, come out protected, and once in, you don't come out unless you are "clean"

Thank you! When i had clean a small quarter sized blood spill on the floor my ppe was as follows:
2 pair of special "surgical gloves" worn on both hands
Goggles
Face mask
A special dispisable apron thing.
I had to block off the spill and sprinkle some powder stuff to coagulate the blood being as it was fresh.
Sweep it into a small dusptpan and toss it into 2 plastic bags.
Wipe the spill with alchohol towelettes
Spray it with disinfectant.
Toss all contaminated things used into a large clear plastic bag and lable it.
Call the proper number for proper disposal
Wash hands and arms with HOT water and soap.
