Management should be required to look back at their camera videos, when employees complain about another employee. I know there is no audio, but the actions of the people and what you are doing at that time is being recorded. I have spent the last 3 days not speaking to certain team members unless someone is around. It's sad. They are saying I'm bossing them around, being rude to customers, and not doing my job. When they are standing around talking while I'm in hot foods frying chicken and a customer comes up. I end up having to stop what I'm doing, wash my hands and take care of that customer. I'm not suppose to do that. but I can't ask them to take care of the customer because then I'm telling them what to do. They ask me how something is to be done, I answer, then I'm telling them what to do. WHAT?? The cameras should be able to see this whether there's audio or not.
I wish the customers would say something about how ignorant they are. There were about 5 customers. Two people working in the cold area, and me in the Hot. I scrubbed up, to go help them out. We have one slicer for meat and one slicer for cheese. One team member sliced up their meat for their customer. I said "Are you done with the slicer?" That team member said with a smart ass voice "For now!" Then the other team member served their customer. I asked again "Are you done with the slicer?" The other team member said, in the same voice "For now" I swear I don't know what peoples problem is with me, but it makes me wish I was dead. I'm just about ready to bring in the Big Dogs and the Union, to let them see what's going on at their Kroger stores. It's childish and like you're back in High School!!

If all this hatred, ignorance, and childish behavior is all over a title, they can take the title away. I just want to work in peace. I have had this title for about a year and nothing, but a .35 raise has come of it. It's not worth it!!!!
I've worked in a couple different stores but never in the Deli/Bakery; without exception every Deli/Bakery seems to be an endless source of drama and BS, it's quite perplexing. Where I currently work at this BS gives the Deli department head a constant headache, though I don't know if she's actually doing anything about it.
I don't think you will ever be able to control this, its what happens when "clicks" form. It might sounds kinda funny, but when people in this mindset you have to either break them up or have someone become the villain outside the department (When their is a comment enemy, people band together).

if you actually care about this job then do what you need to do and feel no remorse or pity when they get yelled at or even fired. ****em

I care about the job. It's not them that would be getting fired. Management won't even let me tell my side. They just listen to the other side. When I try to defend my self I get interrupted. I thought about writing it down, so that I don't get interrupted, but changed my mind. That would be something they could use against me in the future. I just don't get how management can't see the truth. It is all over a petty title and them wanting some one else to have that title.
You may need to explain yourself further to them. Instead of just asking if they are done why not say "Can I use the slicer to help this customer, if you're not using it right now?" To prevent them the opportunity to be a smart ass.

Would you like fries with th... I mean, your milk in a bag?
I would say, if the slicer is not used at the moment, anybody can use it. I mean you should not wait for your associate to be done with his customer before you start helping your customer. You guys can take turns. Especially since a customer tells you what he wants one by one, so your associate's customer may not need anything else sliced. You can say "I'll use the slicer for a second". Same as when my coworker has the handheld and I need it, I'll borrow it and tell him to let me know when he needs it back.
I can confirm, there is drama in every single deli/bakery i've ever worked in!
It frustrates me to no end, in my store there is even drama between the deli head and her backup.. with me, the bakery manager, in the middle of it since i'm friends with both of them. I don't really take sides on it and will listen to both of them.
If you have a title, and management won't listen to your side of the story... there's a problem with store management. I'm not saying they should always take the side of the dept heads over clerks, but to not even listen?? Something's not right.

I've thought about breaking them up by ratting out the one who gossips about everybody behind their backs, but honestly I'm not that kind of person. I try to just do my job and keep to myself. I think this offends everyone around me.
