I worked at kroger for 6 months. Then I got a brain and realized they were either overworking me for way too little pay or I literally had nothing to do but stand there and be bored out of my mind. If any of you people are smart you'll quit while you can. Kroger stinks. If you condition, your managers will never be satisfied with it. You could work your butt off all night and it wouldn't be good enough. They are all greedy. It's a crappy job for crappy pay and if you've been working there longer than three years either you've gone braindead by now or your just plain crazy. But most of all I disliked the employees. All stupid mindless zombies. There was never anyone there worth talking to. And the employee always treat you like crap. Nobody likes shopping so they take it out on you. Basically, if your working in a grocery store for the rest of your life or you plan to your living a very sad and pathetic life.

I agree, to be perfectly honest. The days I work I'm heavily suicidal, I feel obused ostracized and forgotten.  My check keeps getting smaller and stuff keeps getting more expensive.  I tried to leave a few times but was blocked with either "programs are not educational leave" or "can't double up vacations to go to your classes" I even tried to find work elsewhere, even fastfood, anything to get away from this personal hell.  I genuinely think about leaving this world daily.

Before someone spews that get help ****, I did, now my insurance is going up 400% and I can't afford help on top of having a "pre-existing condition" attached to me for life. (mental diagnosis).

I'd be dead already if it wasn't for the responsibility of my wife and kids.

On my days off you wouldn't think anything was wrong, I feel normal and good.

I'm pretty sure Kroger's ruined my life and will ultimately take it. Please, if you can, get out before it's too late. Just leave today, walk out and be ok.

It's 3am. Sorry. I meant abused. The phone doesn't like my hands.

I've been saying this for some time, only with a little more clarity: if you're well into adulthood and still doing this, you're probably either mentally retarded, physically handicapped, substance abusing, mentally ill, or a combination there-of.

People on here get mad as hell reading this-------but that doesn't make it any less true.

If you've got the ability to get out, you should. And get real with yourself: if you're really motivated, you will. Otherwise you'll continue whining on forums like this.

I feel you! This place makes me want to commit suicide also, but I won't quit. This is my only secure job. I have bills to pay and have to eat. I would also go completely nuts if I had to start all over again. This place was already a start over for my life. I won't spew that get help crap. I just want to say, also keep in your head "What would my kids think? What would my spouse think?"

Sorry to hear that. I hope your life gets better and you find a much better happier place to work for.

*hugs* I can't imagine your pain. This job is soul sucking and gives me harmful thoughts at times but it is supplemntal to my husband. So if these people fire me than a big **** you to them.  well maybe it would be best that you just leave too... it may be better for your mental health to just get away and maybe an new door will open? I will be praying for you as you have touched my heart because I can relate.

I'm not saying you're wrong about us Kroger employees (I'm at least two of the the things mentioned) but, didn't you just describe the vast majority of the population? I think you did and if we're being completely honest, doesn't at least one of those "conditions" also apply to you? Life is hard and nobody's perfect!

Which of those things justifies treating people inhumanely?
