Some of you may remember a few posts back about a lazy as all get-out bagger who gets away with everything. There's also a bagger who doesn't bathe. These two have been at the store for years and haven't changed their habits despite management talking to them. But that's all it's been. However, when I'm bringing carts in through the front door it's war. Case in point.

I had lot duty and I would bring in one or two just to fill a space on the front. I don't know if anyone else does this but I would put the quarter-size carts on the back of the full-size carts. Then I would get to the front door, release the strap, check for anyone around, and put the smaller carts in through the front along with a couple of the big carts. At one point someone came up behind me and got too close. I didn't see them and when I released the strap a small cart tapped them. I said are you okay and they said yeah and I said sorry and they said no problem.

Sometime later I'm called up by the worthless jerks of management. They ask me if I was told the new policy on lot duty, which was if you do anything such as sneeze cross-eyed you're wrote up. I said yeah and they go over a few areas and I said I wasn't told about one. They said selective hearing and put me on an SI. Then they ask me about the accident. I told them what, where, and how it happened. They tried to manipulate me into saying something else but I stuck to what I said. Then they wanted to get a statement in writing from me. That didn't happen and it won't.

If I'm still badgered about the statement, which is basically a confession that they can hold against me, what would I need to do?

In reading your posts you're clearly much too intelligent to still be working there. Consider this a cosmic blessing, get your resume together, and get the f u c k out of that sh!t hole.

Best of luck, sincerely

Me again. I understand how it is to hget caught up in a long term suck ass job----people are creatures of habit, and for some, change only comes after a catastrophe. That happened to me upon losing a 15 year job. It paid ok, but I hated it.

What I took from that, more than anything else, is: we hold the keys to our own prisons. If something sucks, get out of it. It will require sacrifice, but it can be done.

Btw: I'm in a whole new line of work, making 40% more $$, and truly happy now.

I have no problem doing my job and being told about rules and regs that are changed. But it pays to know everything so one doesn't mess up. And as for the hygiene deal, you try standing next to a co-worker who hasn't showered for a few years without noticing the b.o.

The only one who is on a permanent vacation is is the troll that posted this tripe. I'm surprised that you actually stopped playing with, well whatever of your appendages you were playing with, to spell correctly. Too bad you didn't stop long enough for punctuation and capitalization.

That crap seems to happen more than you'd think and Management/Kroger are more than happy to lay blame right at your feet for something so minor as "a cart bumped someone". I don't think it's much of a double standard as to it being more of a certain manager or employee (who might have saw it happen) doesn't like you and wants you to get fired. I'm super glad to hear that you refused to put it in writing as that would have been the worst thing you could have done. Keep everything verbal unless you feel that the writing is 100% in your favor - even then I've known managers who have tampered with written statements and not provided copies after writing so trust if a big factor.

Keep going and God speed young cart warrior!

Only an idiotic moron of a troll with nothing to do would boast like this when all they ever did was Jack and ****. And Jack left town.

Some here, it took me 3 yrs to realize that I wasn't going anywhere in that dead end job, so I moved on to bigger and better things.
