Why is it so hard for managers to be fired at Kroger?

We have a co-manager at our store that has had 8 verifiable complaints filed against her with the union. Our manager has been busy dealing with her to the detriment of the other things he needs to do. She also  came this close to having an ADA (disability harassment) case filed against her but it was only by the patience of the person involved that they let the manager deal with it. If this was one of US we would be out the door pronto. Any insights on this? I have been told that if you are black and female you get a "free pass"-I hope this is not the case!

 Does this co-manager kiss up to anyone above the manager? Such as the district manager or the union rep? That might also be another reason why. And I feel for you. It always seems that the lousy management is there for too long a time.

Sounds like  they  are letting  her  waiting for enough  documentation  to fire her without  fear of a lawsuit

There is no one to replace them. People are not lining up for the MD1 program.

I don't know. Kroger hangs on to sociopaths like they are going out of style. I had a couple manager that was sexually harrassing underage male employees, and he still didn't get fired til he was caught stealing. Thing is these bad managers are always also theives stealing like crazy from the store, so I don't know why Kroger doesn't try to get them in that. I mean it doesn't even matter how much or how many times you steal, it should just take one time to get fired. But my theory is that the other Kroger managers and staff got to cover your their own misdeeds before they can go after anyone elses, and that is partially why it takes so long. Also the comanager that got fired would proclaim loudly that he was gay, and I always believed he did this to keep his job.

Get over your racist self, I have seen plenty if straight white males, get away with murder, and never get fired despite many complaints. All they usually get is transferred to a ****ty store, if that. I believe no matter the race people should be held accountable for their actions, good or bad.  In my several years at Kroger I've only had one openly gay black female manager, and she was an ass hole for sure, but I don't think she got away with more than the supposedly straight female manager who is terrible. I think it's more about being protected or quite frankly, who's dick the person is sucking.

I was wondering this myself. We had a horrible co manager at the store I worked at that came from another store because they were kicked out of pretty much every store around where they live, and this is someone who worked up in the company.
