Local 1000 contract explicitly allows tips as long as you don't solicit for them, so if I got tipped and a manager said anything I'd in slightly nicer words tell them to shove it
Ever have a customer tip you on your shift and gotten in trouble because they did it?
The store I work at has a rule not to accept tips. Although some of the other employees don't obey it I don't accept tips because it's a personal thing too. If you have that rule or feel the same way or both be nice but firm with the customer and thank them for the offer. That usually works.

If a customer offers me a tip, ill take it even though were not supposed to. Imo, if a customer tips, then they are doing so because they want to a d are happy with the services recieved. If we do accept tips however, it is MANDATORY that we turn it in to donations. Nobody ever does though, myself included. Im guessing management gave up on the policy because no one has ever said anything more to us on the topic. I know the baggers ALWAYS accept tips as do some other employees that provide exceptional service.
When I worked for Kroger as a bagger , I'd get offered tips alot. one old man tried giving me 2 bucks. I didn't take it but apparently some other customer saw it happen and called , complained on me to the front end. I was afraid I was going to lose my job but I didn't. I am so happy I got out of there
They probably called because the customer figured a bagger should NOT at ANY time for ANY reason be making more than their set rate of pay. Less is fine. More is an "abomination against nature." But why complain? Its not any of their business whatsoevwr.

Only tips you get and deserve is fat dick in your ass.

Make sure your contract approves it, tho. I know for a fact some manahers go under cover as tipping customers. Know a guy who got fired over it.
Wow are you kidding me??? Jesus what a waste of time to catch some one getting a little xtra cash. This is why sone people rather steal and sell drugs then to deal with the **** you just typed
Why would anyone WASTE time and resources to see if employees are taking tips? HUGE waste of time. If an employee accepts a tip willingly given then WHO CARES?

That could be considered entrapment and that's illegal. If the "customer" asks if you'll take a tip, that's okay. It's up to you to accept or refuse it. If they hand you money , especially if it's done secretly, then that's entrapment.

Entrapment? Like a criminal matter you could have prosecuted or a legal issue you could sue over? You wanna test that theory, be my guest. Dumbass

Honestly who gives a flying **** if people accept tips or not. Its not ANYONE'S Business if they do...so who cares? As long as its not solicited then its not a big deal.

Your on kroger time and property they own you so follow the rules stfu and do what your told to slave.
This one customer gave me a $50.00 tip for Christmas last year because not only did i help him to his car, with his HUGE order I helped suggest an awesome meal idea for him that we always have for our holiday dinners. He came in the day after Christmas with my "tip" and said his family enjoyed the meal suggestion 100%.
This company is garbage telling its customers to not tip. I bet they dont pay enough to make up for it. I know when I delivered you got surprised by really good tips and ate good that night now you have companies telling people to not tip? This place is crap!
Just say this: that person was my relative or s/o. If they complain about race or gender just say :
"they are my step relative and they are giving me money for lunch/repaying a loan" but being as its NOT ANY of their business simply walk away after saying that. This lets them know the conversation is done.
Warning: This MAY lead to further esscelation if they do not like your response.
Or if they continue to harass you can say this: "I already told you of their relationship to me. Their race, gender, sexual orientation does NOT matter. Now this conversation is done. Do NOT keep pestering me on it!!"
I've said that and was invited to managers office to discuss what happened after I said this to another co-worker. There was a SIR paper waiting for my signature, but it remained unsigned.
I shredded it up after manager forgot to put it in my file. ALL 3 copies gone.

Kroger workers make good bank for doing easy work. Tips are not needed and frowned upon. Stop begging and get a better job.

People frowning upon me taking tips when offered, only makes me take them even more
Ever have a customer tip you on your shift and gotten in trouble because they did it?
Yup, my pic took it out of my hands and used it on her break to get starbucks. She said "my b*&#H got it for me" No wonder her husband is divorcing her.

Why would you let her take it out of your hands? She would have had MAJOR problems if she TRIED that with me.
