I mean, I go there, and I don't know where something is. I ask any random employee, and if they don't know, like today when I asked this one girl, they got their walkie-talkie, that every employee has, and they ask, and someone responds with an answer, and I now know where that thing is.

Here at Kroger, do I get a walkie-talkie? Nope.

lol.

We had walkie talkies and ear buds when we first opened the new marketplace.

They didn't last long.  After 4 months open, there was a note on time clock to please return them daily to charger station in the office.  My nephew even found a crushed one in the parking lot in the snow while he was shopping.  I was digging thru my departments' desk and think I saw 3 of them just sitting there wasting away.

Just a fad that fades away.  Too much opportunity for playing around.  We got too much work to do.

Would have been better to spend the money on 5 more telzons.

The Walmart in my area has them. I was trying to talk to one of the employees there and it kept going off interrupting our conversation. Loud and annoying.

We had the walkies in my store for like....3 months? and they started breaking, and getting lost, and everything else. Now most of the time you can't find one in the morning to use anyway so i never carry one.

Yeah, in ClickList, we're all supposed to carry walkies. We use them ask questions about subs, where a product display/endcap may be, get messages from the e-Commerce Supervisor/leads, etc... but we also use them when a customer asks a question and we have an immediate answer, and also to report a spill or have customer assistance paged to a particular aisle. They're handy to have.

That's interesting, cause I have never seen any of our store's Clicklist people carry walkie talkies.

The only people who have walkie talkies at our store are the managers and security.

Our store *just* got walkie-talkies a week ago, for all the managers and dept. heads/backups.

We've lost two already :)

Supposedly we're getting another round of them in, and we're going to label them all by department. I doubt that helps because we can't even keep track of all the RF guns in our store.

We're on the second set of walkie talkies.

The first set got used hard and they all ended up lost or broken.  It's really a shame, as they could connect to the intercom.  It has me wondering if I could buy a third party model and connect it for shenanigans.

The second set is sturdy and generic.  The difference now is that our hours have been strangled to the point where they aren't useful.  During the daytime, it's only "I'm on a register" or "I'm too busy", and after it slows down in the early evening, idle chit chat for hours.  Everybody gradually stopped using them and now they all sit on the charger.
