Haha, the only stores that reach their goals are the suburban stores or stores with cashiers effect by breast cancer. For something that is RX driven....its funny how FE is ridden to make the #. Make sure you ask every "higher up" if they already made their donation..... I love to but them on the spot and get their $$ (specially when they are asking about it).
Nope. Its TOO competative. Its supposed to be a DONATION. NOT some damned competition on which store can reach their UNREALISTIC goal first. Our manager has stopped trying to be the best. He figures that whatever donation we get by the end is good enough. If it didn't make the goal...deal with it.

pretty ****ty attitude
NO, not really. I think he's just being a little more realistic and down-to-earth.
With Kroger management, they want to suck everybody up into a constant, driving, never-ending COMPETITION to sell more of this or that than the other nearby Kroger stores...... sell more Angel food Cakes, sell more BBQ ribs, sell more Watermelon, sell more Donuts, sell more Sweet corn, sell more XXX than the other stores in the Division or District. It gets irritating after awhile!!

Thank you. And yes, its NOT a ****ty attitude. Im.stating fact. To make a donation into a stupid cometition is f*cking ridiculous. Even our customers have stopped donating as much as they use to. I Say A donation should be made with the heart and for good cause. It should NOT matter if the goal is met or not. And i HONESTLY do NOT care if the goal met. Be satisfied with what you get and deal with it. The charities don't set the UNREALISTIC goals, corporate does. Why can't they be satisfied with what we do get in donations. We cannot force anyone to make a donation if they do not want to.

Back in the day, they gave us such a miserable time about our CCG's that it led me to skip the spiel entirely. Never got out of that habit, and I don't like the whole charity thing since the main goal is probably just to reduce Kroger's tax burden.
If they give me a hard time about pestering customers, I start up with the "Would you like to donate to some charity thing or something?"
What other employee gets stiffed by front end cashiers to donate to one of these stupid, corrupt "causes" while trying to purchase groceries? I have said to one of them "you know I work here, do you think I have money to blow, buddy?" The Susan G. Komen fund is an absolute racket. Do your research. United Way is another one that is absolutely corrupt, a coworker told me that the donated money was used to pay for the executives' strippers.
