What are a list of possible things one would do for that to happen?

They were suspended for 2 months and came back to work? or they received a 2 month suspension? Normally, if your coming back form a suspension its because you won a grievance hearing. A grievance hearing depending on scheduling and issues could take 2 months or the associate when suspended requested assistance with something (drug, mental, court, etc) and just received clearance/cleared. In reality its quiet easy to win a grievance hearing as long as you didn't self incriminate yourself or have a semi reasonable excuse.

Yup, I knew of someone that returned after 6 months after being terminated for attendance.  She had entered into a rehab program.
