The holidays are coming up and people are roaming around the parking lot asking customers for money. My store has already had one on two occasions. Anyone else have this happen yet?

I've seen a few use this tactic as a scam. They park their vehicle at the lot next to my store, make up some sob story about how they don't have any way to get somewhere for. some reason, then drive off to another place to do it again. I should have explained it before. Some scammers use technology, some use a direct approach.

It's been an ongoing problem at our store. My previous manager kicked out this Hispanic woman who came with two kids and her tattered sign. Claiming she had no money to feed her kids. Last time I dealt with her and asked her to leave (our parking lot is considered private property) she got into a LEXUS SUV and left!!!!!

Hell yea tis the season to scammin again. No joke I made at least 200 a day for a straight 3 weeks sitting outside a Kroger. brought my little cushion to sit on a home made sign sayin hungry anything you cans spare will help1!! and had a nice warm blanket. Also had my iPhone 7 Plus so as I was covered up I was playing games and watchin videos and **** and face timing the holiday hoes and ****. Doing all this **** while making a dolla dolla bill yallz. had 2 peeps spot me 2 twenty bills last year. No doubt I made more in one day than some sorry sap sucker who belongs in a gutter at kroga
20 + years ago I was going into my area Kroger late one night. A young white guy in cover-alls approached me with what has to have been, still, to this day, the most convincing story I've ever heard. He was driving supplies/tools for a farmer in a distant rural town, the truck had run out of gas, he had to be there on time, this was the only job he could find, his wife was about to have their baby, yadayadayada, could he pleeeeeease just have $5. for some gas?
As he was really rolling with this and as I was 80--90% ready to help him, a Kroger cart pusher appeared behind this guy, wordlessly, and he vehemently shook his head and mouthed 'NOOOOO!'. The first guy never saw him. I declined, stepped away-----and this 'desperate young father to be' suddenly changed personalities and began screaming the foulest profane names at me I've ever been called.
As I was inside the store, the staff were telling me they'd been dealing with this puke all eveing, the cops had been there multiple times, each time he'd fade, then come back when they left.
Had one couple ask me for $5.00 for gas money for a "doctor's appointment" for a relative. I politely declined saying, I wish I could afford a Lexus. then gas would be no problem for me. They got mad, called me an *******. my reply? "Have a nice day dumbasses." They sped off real fast in a fit of rage.

My store has panhandlers and people going around asking for rides all year round.Normally 1 or 2 a week 52 weeks a year.We have had to call the cops on more than a few because they wouldn't leave when asked and about 3 months ago one panhandler refused to even leave when the police told him too so he was arrested.OP, I'm stunned that your store doesn't have them more often.
I was filling my car up; guy at the next pump and I were chatting. He looked about my age, general income level, almost identicle SUV. Seemed very cool. In the middle of his dialog, tho, he veered off and started going into how he and his wife were from out of town, they were here to see her dying mother in the hospital, he'd left his wallet and credit cards at home, and ------
"I'm not giving you any money, dude."
"Oh. Ok."
The only change in his countenence whatsoever was that he'd been geeked in his game; he clearly wasn't used to that. He was slick, man. Makes me wonder how much money he'd conned out of how many people.
As I drove off, I looked back. He was up at the gas station talking with somebody else at the front door
