Doctors note and calling out.

Sorry If this is wrong place for this Im just really stressing this. I had my gf call in for me today because I was throwing up and extremely sick. She talked to a co manager who said okay. Then transfered her to my dept manager. My dept manager said I needed to bring a doctors note when I come back. Ive been with Kroger 8-9 months called out like at most 4 times but I only think Ive actually called out 3. And thats been in the entire time Ive worked here. So do I need a doctors note can my dept manager force me to get one or Ill get written up. Also Im about to transfer stores so. Can that mess up my transfer?

You only need a note if you're out three consecutive days.  What kind of idiot expects you go to the doctor if you're only sick one day?  The consensus is if you need to call out three days in a row, then you need to see a doctor.  Although, calling out three times when you've only worked there 8 or 9 months is nothing to brag about.

Usually if you sick enough you cant work you need to see a Dr anyway and might as well get a Dr. Note to cover your ass

Not if it's something like a stomach virus and you have to keep running to the bathroom all day.  Even a sore throat and a fever can last just one day.

You only need a doctor's note if you call off for three consecutive days. However, I find it pointless because doctor notes still count against you. I got strep throat in February and was out for two days. I had a doctor's note and they still called me asking where I was. I was asleep so I missed their call and I called them back to let them know what was going on. Turns out that it was lack of communication, but still. Why should we need one if it still counts against us?
