I'd advise everyone who works in the deli (and any other service dept) to treat other employees as regular customers. No exceptions.
I used to treat other employees a little special (little things like throwing an extra roll in their meal or putting an extra cheese slice on their sandwich, you know) but that changed real quick when everyone started asking for extra favors.
I treat them like any other customer. Although for back up managers, leads or store managers I do tend to go a little faster. As I feel like some of them are assessing my skills at doing my job. Meaning how prompt I am at getting their order out to them and working on other people. I'm not a slow worker by any means. But I've found in the past if I do go too quickly with customers at times, I can OVER slice their meat or cheese and wind up having to throw more away. So I've learned to slow things down a bit more and be more careful for myself. But I don't think a lot of managers would get that as they expect a certain level of speed with regards to ALL tasks at hand.
Bitch, you better associate your ass over to this register and ring me up NOW!
Lol, I like that line. I'm gonna use that one day.
This is why we love the self checkouts at our store. I rarely see a cashier ring out another employee. We all use the self checkout. Nobody wants to deal with that.

What hats why I love self checkout as an employee who uses it in my store, and a customer in other stores. Kroger cashiers suck, and I don't want to check out with any of the ones in my store. Most annoying employees in the store. They just suck at life.
