If I have been with Kroger for a few years do I have to re enroll for benefits this year. I've never had to before, it was always automatic, but someone said I have to do it have this year. Did the whole plan change it something?
Vision is no longer being offered. Kroger and the union agreed to cut vision benefits starting in 2019.
Enrollment ended a couple of days ago, after being extended, so I'm afraid you missed the window. As far as I know, you won't be able to enroll again until next November for 2020, so you're not going to be covered going in to 2019.

Wow that sucks. Didn't realize I had to re enroll, never had to before. Wouldve been nice to get a text or something.
They do it by mail now, which sucks. We use to do it online. If they're cutting dental and medical, guess it's time for us hard workers to look for other companies.

I got plenty of emails, saw it on Facebook , got a text from the union and it was posted in store. IDK how you missed it.

I'm not in the union and I have no interest in opting in to get text alerts from Kroger. That being said, having worked for Kroger for over seven years now, I know that whenever November rolls around that it's time to review and re-enroll for health insurance coverage for the coming year. It's around the same time every year. I've always re-enrolled, so that's why come November 15th or so, I know I have until up around the second week of December to go online and get it done. The stores I've worked at have always been pretty good too about posting notices by the time clocks/in the break room with information on the enrollment period, website and so on. Sorry that you missed it.

I know. Cheap insurance is one reason I keep this job. At least it was a nice perk. Because compared to just about anywhere it is cheap. But now I won't be covered. And the union and company should have worked harder to let everyone know that EVERYONE had to re enroll this year. Because its never been like that before. Jerks....

I did not receive any emails or texts about insurance. I did get texts about random stuff like the union saying happy Thanksgiving but no texts or emails about needing to re enroll. I don't use face book, but that should not be the main way the union disseminates info. That is lazy.

I've never had to re enroll. It always rolled over, I even called and asked my insurance company one year if I needed to, and they said no. It was only necessary this year because of the change in co pays.
