Here in UFCW 1996 country it is 7PM. Any Kroger stores closing earlier? Thank god we are not Target-they are closing at 10PM!

Ours isn't. The market is testing a new flight to see how well staying open does. This officially sucks.

Knew this was coming. As someone that's been in charge of standing by the doors on the days that we close early, I can tell you from personal experience, be it Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or New Years Eve, I've had to turn customers away as we get close to the early close time, and it never fails how some customers put up a fight and say they're gonna call and complain to corporate. Your store staying open regular hours on Christmas Eve is but a stepping stone to having the store be open on Christmas Day. I'm pretty sure that's where corporate wants to go with this.

My store closes at 9:00PM on Christmas Eve... which is only four hours earlier than normal, so really not by much.

7 pm. Used to be 5, then 6, and now they decided to make us stay open until 7 pm. (Although we ALWAYS close 15 minutes earlier due to the store being ALWAYS packed to the gills. And if we closed right at our designated time, we would NEVER leave on time...and that is NOT going to happen.

In reality Christmas Eve SOME stores should stay open till 9 or 10pm. SOME meaning higher volume locations/Marketplace locations with limited services (Service Counter closed at 5pm). In reality there should be plenty of people willing to travel to those locations to staff them, in reality you just need a very skeleton staff.

I think all stores should close at 4 PM. People want to be with there Family. This would give Accounting and all time to count all tills and be out by 6 PM.

6PM. They should not keep the store open normal hours that day, unless Corporate or District Management is working those hours, and I don't see that happening lmao

Closing at 9:00 sucked.

When we closed at 6:00 last year, we almost needed teargas and riot clubs to get the customers out of the store.  Idiots shouldn't be shopping that late on Christmas, and I have no sympathy for them.  I'd be in favor of closing much, much earlier so we could actually spend some time with our families while the idiots are punished for their procrastination.

Pretty much only ghetto trash and Indians/Pakis filtered in after about 7:30.  It was bizarre to see.

It was also incredibly frustrating, as ghetto trash and their children just throw gobacks everywhere.  I'd be reshopping, doing gobacks, whatever, and there'd be new gobacks down every single aisle, every single time.  ****.  I'd grab those, and then there'd by more.  ****ing ****.

I wish we could track shrink per hour, as there was so much trash and so many backpack wearers I doubt we even made any money after 7:30.  Since the company cares so little for employees and their families, I'd say that would be the most profitable time to close.
