New Insurance Question

So this year I added my spouse. Anybody else just loving this so far? After paying two weeks of my $77 premium (yay, biometric screening), insurance card finally came in the mail. Plan on using insurance a lot more than last year, but have had trouble so far and feel confused on how it works, going to call these idiots again tomorrow, but thought it was worth a shot to ask yall.

1) One person I called told us my spouse would receive a card in the mail too. WRONG. It clearly says only policyholders name appears on card. Okay, fine. Same person told us if my spouse goes to the dentist, itll suffice to just show the card, theyll talk to the dental folks and big boo-yah, itll be cool beans. Is that true? Or after calling the main idiots tomorrow, should I also call the teeth people, the eye people, etc, and see if we need another card from them too. Spouse was somehow able to set up a temporary card on the dental website even without our actual card arriving yet at the time. Whole insurance website is trash, IMO.

2) Can they send me an additional card so my spouse and I can be in different places and not have to play tradesies with one card?

3) What the **** is a prescription card? My spouse needed medication, and my 2018 card was expired. Naturally, by Kroger standards/logic, **** me and who cares if my 2019 card is not in my possession yet. Pharmacy clerk told us we could come back and get the difference refunded once I have the card. I tried this, and was told about this prescription card. I guess I have to call for that too? And how will that work when my spouses name is not allowed to be on the card?

TL;DR - Two weeks in ($144), and I have no clue how many cards I need, or if my spouse will even be able to use this crap. The last thing I want is for any problem to arise while were at the dentist or eye doctor, etc. Also concerned if I need separate cards too. Last year, spouse had ****ty insurance, but it was just one card and it worked at places without incident.
