Required Late Shift as Back-up
Permalink

Previously head clerks and back-ups were required to work a mid shift and a late shift every week.  For me in Drug gm that's at late shift of 10am-6pm.  Now they are telling us that our late shift HAS to be on the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday.  How can they force us to work a certain shift on a certain day.  A lot goes into making a schedule.  From week to week you never know what you will have to work around to make a proper schedule.  As if i needed 1 more reason to step down as a back-up.  Under paid and they just keep piling more and more on us to do with less and less hours.

UHHH! I have been working for Kroger for over 2 years and it has been that way since I've been working here. FSMs, Leads, Back-ups, and General Managers are required to work one mid shift and one night shift a week and a Friday or Saturday. Now as for the night shift on a weekend is new, but the other has always been true. Yeah not every FSM or Lead follows that, until they get caught. Then they only follow it a few weeks, then go back to doing what they want until they get caught again.

Um... for me a late shift is 1-9 and my store manager is pushing for us to do 2-10 now.

It depends on your store manager though because i've heard the weekend late shift thing before too but i usually work late on Mondays and no one cares. I do it so i can be there in time for the department head meeting.

Do You work in Drug/GM?  Our District Coordinator told us that since in ELMS, which your schedule is made off of doesn't ask for anyone after 6pm, then we didn't have to work a later shift than that.
