Calling HR extension

Is it possible to call directly to the HR person's office phone in your store after dialing into the store's number? No one ever answers when I call the front desk!!

Depends upon the store.  Most stores the hr person doesn't really have a desk.  You can always try selecting a side department and ask to be transferred to the hr individual or manager.

Depends on your contract.

If your phone system is "Nortel" system, all you have to do is dial the extension when asked for the department.  Instead of dialing 1-9, 0, just key the 4 digit extension.  If you have the newer "Cisco" system, I believe you have to dial # or *, then you can dial the extension.  If I remember correctly, if no on answers you will automatically be directed to the service desk.

I don't know the code for the HR person's phone. I know Kroger has standard extension numbers for all department phones. Do you happen to know the one for the HR person, by any chance? Our store definitely has those Cisco phones.

I do not think HR Extensions are standard, you will just have to ask your store or ask the HR person their #.  If your HR person is a Asst. Store MGMT, I would suggest asking for their wireless phone extension.

I suggest paging in the store whenever you are in the store next time. All you have to do is press the "Page" or "Intercom" speed dial button if you have older Nortel phones. If you have the newer Cisco phones, the display will say "Paging" somewhere on the screen. Press the button to the left of "paging."

Sometimes people are busy, so page instead of just going up to their desk and interrupting them.

Paging with the Cisco phone are fun, specially with the few seconds delay.  When first using them, you will learn to not actually listen to what your saying, the 2 second delay will really mess with your mind :)
