Me and my husband were both let go from the company. He had been there 22 years as a department head and I had been there 12 years as manager. GET OUT as soon as possible. You would think after 22 years they wouldnt do something like this but they did. Oh and if you think you will get unemployment YOUR WRONG. Got it for 7 weeks then they took us to court and LIED under oath to wiggle their way out of having to pay it. In fact it now has to be paid back. All this because a manager told him to bag his own fresh fish while he was shopping off the clock because she didn't know how to do it. BEWARE! we were jewed out of our jobs!
Your antisemitism isnt doing anything to make people feel sorry for you, you probably should knock off those kinda remarks. Did they tell you a reason you got fired at all?

1. Department heads are union. They can't be fired. They can be asked to step down but they can't be fired.
2. From the wording of your post, it sounds like the two of you worked at the same store. That's not possible. Store managers and their family members can't work in the same store.
3. Everyone knows that you don't weigh up and price your own product that intend to purchase. You can prepare it but someone else has to weigh it and price it.
There's more to the story than what's posted here. Family members can not work in the same store. If they do they can not work under each other nor in the same department. Leads can not be fired for customer just cause even if they're being out of line and nasty to the employee. Leads step down they do not get fired. It's almost impossible to get fired from Kroger due to the union over protecting every one. You had to of done something really immoral to have been taken to court. I'm surprised you didn't file for a grievance and let the union take control. You still can. I believe you have 90 days to do so. You got hustled by your store manager and I bet you can get your jobs back if that's all you did: "middle finger to the manager." That's just cause. That's illegal due to the clause in our union books stating that we can not be fired for just cause. Legally that can't get you fired unless you your self were totally out of line, nasty and unprofessional.
I quit, I even offered to stay 3 months and train my replacement at a clerk wage.
Our contract, the new one, has a clause that if anyone is part time you get 10$ period. I went from 22$ to 10$ overnight. I put in my two weeks, but after a **** ton of harassment I was "sick" the last few days.
It would of been in their interest to let me work and train my replacement at the reduced hours of 36 hours. Instead I had to sit there and tell customers for 2 days I am no longer. Management and I can ko longer operate the saws based on my new position.
Kroger's is doing real, like real, gaslighting.
The best decision I ever made. In my entire life was to look at my store manager when he followed me into the bathroom complaining, and I went "were either going to fight or ****, or you can go".
I spent my last week and a half being harassed and them trying to insult me, then convince me to come back. Once they found out I was serious about my two weeks I was offered a few things. I refused and left.
Yes the last 2 weeks they kept flip-flopping, couldn't live without me, then why are you still here, just leave if you arnt going to stay.
They did you a favor. You will realize soon enough.

Weird cause in Cincy Dayton I know of two stores were husband wife couples carpool and work the same schedule in the same department... Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Not saying this person is innocent. Just my entire experience with Kroger's has been double standards, illegal and immoral activity.

When I first started working at Kroger there was a husband and wife who were married for 30+ years working in my department. They had been coworkers at Kroger, got married, and both of them kept their job and even got to stay in the same department.

If they're on equal levels, then yes, family members can work in the same department at the same store. The only time it's not allowed is when one of them has an authoratative position over the other one.
Cincy/Dayton has been notorious for a lot of husband/wife couples working in the stores it seems. it is completely fine as long as one isn't the other's boss. They can work in the same department as clerks, or be department heads of different departments.
